WeEco stands for “Women entrepreneurs: An intersectional perspective on entrepreneurial ecosystems in Colombia, Germany and Switzerland”.

WeEco is a transatlantic research initiative exploring how women entrepreneurs experience inclusion and exclusion within entrepreneurial ecosystems in Colombia, Germany, and Switzerland. Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) through the SPIRIT program and the German Research Foundation (DFG), the project unites a team of female researchers from these countries with expertise in feminist and economic geography, economics, and entrepreneurship studies.

Focusing on intersectionality, WeEco examines how factors like socioeconomic background, ethnicity, migrant status, and care responsibilities shape women’s entrepreneurial experiences. By understanding their challenges and strategies, we aim to contribute to the creation of more inclusive and supportive ecosystems in diverse contexts.

The project will run until January 2028.
